Caveat:  Not a "bad beat" in the textbook sense of the word, but definitely a 200+BB bad beat.  This story comes to us from a sickly beatdown that happened 2010-08-07.
Here is how it went down:
I was sitting on about $785 and my "opponent" had about $450. The hand began with some donkey posting a $10 straddle. It folded around to seat seven (?), maybe eight and he called. It was folded around to me sitting at the cutoff and I look down at cowboys. I bump it to $40, donkey boy (straddler) folded and my "opponent" called. Now comes the flop,  K J J with 2 spades. He checks and I make a "please call me bet" of $30 and he makes it $90. I think for a minute (getting some TV time), really I'm debating whether to re-raise or to smooth call. I make the call. The turn card is the 4 of spades and he leads out with $100, at this point I figure he hit his spade draw and I got him so I pop it to $200 and he shoves all in so I insta-call and flip over my Kings, he looks at them and says "Sorry Man!" and shows his Jacks. Obviously the river wasn't the case King.  I just about had an aneurism I was so mad.
This is my first war story from CTRS of which I am sure will be many. Luck of the Irish my ASS!!!
